About The Christian Science Standard
The Christian Science Standard was an independent journal of Christian Science published from 1905 to 1918. It was founded by Augusta E. Stetson, one of the most prominent Christian Science practitioners and teachers of the early movement, and was published in New York City.
The Standard was established as a vehicle for preserving and presenting the original teachings of Mary Baker Eddy at a time when questions about the direction of the movement were being actively debated. Its pages contain articles, testimonies, editorials, and correspondence that offer a direct window into the thought and practice of early Christian Science.
The journal ran for thirteen years and produced a substantial body of material. The Christian Science Endtime Center has made the complete run of the Standard available here as a free online resource for students, researchers, and all who are interested in the history and teachings of Christian Science.

Augusta E. Stetson
Augusta Emma Stetson (1842–1928) was one of the most prominent figures in the early Christian Science movement. A student of Mary Baker Eddy, she became the leading practitioner and teacher in New York City, where she built the First Church of Christ, Scientist into one of the largest and most active branches in the movement.
Stetson founded The Christian Science Standard in 1905 as an independent journal dedicated to preserving and advancing the original teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. Her commitment to those teachings, and her willingness to speak plainly about what she understood them to require, made the Standard an important voice in the debates of the era.
